"Four Fall Foliage Friends"

I find this piece very playful. It has an illustrative children's book look to it.

(Due to the length of the painting, I can't post any larger than this size without distortion to the blog interface.)

Stages "Without Clarity"

As you can see, a lot of this painting was reworked around the subject.  I continued experimenting with the crosshatching and played around with the "glow" of the piece. Overall, I love the final color choice and dream-like feel.

Looking past the distortion

The distortion is tough and I'm squinting constantly. The hope is it turns out exactly how I pictured it in my dream.

Birds of a Feather is Done!

I love this piece. So many hidden meanings that I feel so close to in my life. Plus, getting to experiment with gold paint is amazing between my fingers. I love how it dances with the sunlight.

One of many Inspirations

"I was attempting to make a bird alighting on a field. And...suddenly the lines that I'd drawn suggested something totally different, and out of this suggestion arose this picture...It was like one continuous accident." - Francis Bacon on Painting, 1946
